Functional Nutrition for Candida and Parasite Concerns
A deeper functional nutrition approach

Persistent bloating, fatigue, cravings, stool changes, or food reactions deserve a careful investigation. I help clarify the pattern, protect nourishment, and build a structured nutrition plan for treatment and recovery.
Digestive symptoms can reflect infection, IBS, SIBO, constipation, celiac disease, inflammation, medication effects, under-eating, or several factors at once. I review symptoms, exposures, testing, diet, and treatment history together so we can identify the most useful next steps and avoid unnecessary restriction.
How I build your care plan
I lead the nutrition strategy by interpreting symptoms, exposures, testing, food tolerance, weight changes, bowel function, and previous responses together. The plan may focus on maintaining nourishment, supporting motility, rebuilding microbial resilience, using targeted supplements, or sequencing these priorities over time.
I take your symptoms and results seriously, establish clear priorities, and build a plan with measurable responses and a defined path forward.
How I approach candida and parasite concerns
Separate evidence from assumption
We review travel, water and food exposures, pets, immune status, fever, weight loss, stool changes, previous infections, and the exact testing method. A named organism is interpreted alongside the testing method, exposure history, symptoms, and overall clinical picture so the response is targeted and appropriate.
Protect nourishment while symptoms are active
Severe restriction can reduce calories, carbohydrates, fiber, and food variety, sometimes worsening constipation, fatigue, muscle loss, and food fear. I build the most nutritionally complete diet the person can tolerate instead of treating hunger as proof that the protocol is working.
Coordinate nutrition with appropriate treatment
When a pathogen requires prescription care, I coordinate nutrition around treatment to support hydration, electrolytes, meal tolerance, strength, and recovery. When antimicrobial supplements are considered, we review dose, duration, interactions, adverse effects, and the clinical rationale.
Address what remains after treatment
Symptoms may persist because of motility changes, post-infectious IBS, altered tolerance, medication effects, or inadequate intake. We reassess rather than reflexively extending antimicrobials or adding more restrictions.
How supplements may fit into your plan
When Candida or a parasite is part of the concern, supplements are chosen from the testing, organism, symptoms, treatment plan, nutritional status, bowel pattern, and individual sensitivity. I define the purpose and expected response before adding each category.
- Microbiome support: may be used to support intestinal ecology, bowel function, and recovery, with the approach adapted to treatment timing and tolerance.
- Functional fibers: may be introduced gradually to support motility, stool form, microbial resilience, and the return of food variety when symptoms allow.
- Vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes: may support hydration, energy, nutrient repletion, and recovery when diarrhea, restriction, poor intake, or weight loss has created additional needs.
- Herbal or antimicrobial support: may be considered selectively when the clinical rationale is clear, with the formulation, intensity, duration, interactions, response, and stopping point personalized.
Your plan may emphasize nourishment and rebuilding, targeted microbial support, or a sequence of both. I adjust each category according to symptoms, testing, tolerance, and progress.
What a personalized plan may include
- A detailed symptom, exposure, travel, testing, medication, and supplement history
- Careful interpretation of existing results with a clear action plan based on the organism, symptoms, and testing method
- Adequate calories, protein, carbohydrates, fluids, and electrolytes during treatment
- A symptom-tolerable eating plan that avoids unnecessary long-term restriction
- A defined purpose and stopping point for every supplement used
- A rebuilding plan for bowel function, food variety, and nutrient status
Your path forward
Your plan may include food adjustments, hydration, nutrient repletion, bowel support, probiotics, soluble fiber, antimicrobial botanicals, and a structured rebuilding phase. Medical care is incorporated when testing identifies a pathogen that requires prescription treatment or when fever, bleeding, severe dehydration, intense pain, major weight loss, or immune compromise makes evaluation essential.
